Today I decided to focus on the importance of posture. It can effect nearly every part of your life. From the way you and others see yourself to your very own health, posture is almost vital. So today we are going to explore exactly what posture does for us.
Posture has a huge effect on our ability to breath. As we breathe, our rib cage expands and contracts with our lungs. When we slouch, the mobility of our ribs is reduced. This causes our breathing to be very restricted. Increasing your breathing abilities is always a good thing to do!
Another benefit of having good posture goes hand in hand with good breathing: your ability to focus. When you are getting enough air, then your brain starts working at full capacity. That means that having good posture will make you smarter and focused! As a student, both of those things are really important, so the application is instant for me
Sitting up also improves your image. Standing and sitting up straight makes you appear more “poised” and consequently makes you look more attractive. Who doesn’t want that?
Did you know that your posture can also effect your mental health? Slouching makes you feel more tired and glum. Sitting up straight makes you feel more ready to go, and getting out of the house is certainly important in overcoming depression! It also gives a feeling of rejuvenation, so you have the energy to go get things done and increase your confidence even more!!!
Finally, posture can reduce your risk for certain health risks like back pain and slipped disks. Who doesn’t want to avoid back pain?!?!
Anyways, that about wraps it up! So remember to have good posture, and it’ll improve your life!!!!
